Author Topic: Steelheads in the coquitlam River?

A neighbor of mine told me that his best fishing years ago for steelhead was winter run steelhead. Anyone know if they are still in the system or are they all gone?
Hook Set

The gravel mine messed up that river pretty bad so they are all pretty much gone. Its not worth your trip.

..i heard the same thing happend to the burnette river aswell...god bless the rehabilation programs, just goes to show c n r on some species should be honored by every one..tight lines and tight woman..
The Yak

those 2 rivers actully made it on to the top 20 most endangered rivers in Canada. if you want some real Steelhead action it's better to head to the Vedder

I am a Coquitlam boy. The river is really messed up due to the gravel mine. Fishermen in the area know that the river needs time to rest and rebuild itself. Most don't fish there.

Hey yak, were would a guy find out that kinda info...??

..never mind answere my own question..
