Anyone know if the cap has got any better after that huge downpore. Just wanted to know because the vedder is a mudhole now and the fishing is really slow(as a friend told me). so if you know how cap is then give me the full report.

Went out both mornings this weekend (only for an hour or two because I'm a busy guy)and the river is roaring! And the Coho are definitely starting to move upstream. I hooked into 3 of them and didn't land any. I was fishing the lower portion of the river (north of the Marine Drive bridge), and there were plenty of coho rising. Visibility is 12 inches or so. Haven't been up top yet.

what were ya usin?

spinners mostly, with a little bit of wool and/or roe on the end; through the odd spoon in, but got most of the hits on spinners (pink Blue Fox #2 & #3 and Colorado's). Water is way too fast in most areas for a float.
Be careful if you plan on going out to the upper river (watch for mudslides and loose banks etc.) The area has gotten a sh_t load of rain!

went there used a spoon (croc) and landed one and had 2 others on.ur right the river is roaring, not that many running i dont think but i think this weekend will be great.

Just so everyone knows, its Native land from the CN train bridge (which is close to the mouth of the river) all the way to the SW Marine Drive bridge, and we (being white folk who don't live on that land) are not allowed to fish there. So, make sure you fish on either side of those 2 bridges (not in between)!

Good luck!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Bass Master is right about Catching & Releasing Coho in the Capilano because each year the number of both Wild and Hatchery fish returning to the river gets lower and lower.

wheres da best place to fish da cap any suggesttions? streets?

go park closest to the fishery then look for a spot while walking the trail. Be careful! its really dangerous there especially now that the water is so damn high.
