was fishing the river yesterday trying powerbait, spinners, red and white spoon, and shrimp bait nothing works lots of fish jumping no bites. Anyone have any luck what works well?

Short float with an worm or roe, works every time . Also float close to shore

Tight lines

I second that!!! Worms are always great, but they cant stay off them there.

When using worms, use a fairly small piece, or else you'll get "nibblers" that slowly eat at the dangling end and will give you falst strikes. Also, strike quick because fish will inhale worms faster than say a shrimp or corn, causeing them to get hooked too deep to release.

My friend told me that a spratley under a float works pretty well.(a Doc Spratley fly that is for anyone who doesn't know)

Doc Spratleys in brownish work good, and olive slash green. You want to match the water colour. You'll also want a small one. If you don't fly, yeah, a float and sprat will work. We use Sprats there in the spring slash summer stripped really fast across the surface on a dry line and the Cutties (i think mostly rez's) will chase them down- looks like a shark fest in there.

Hey LV, im going to have to agree with you, the last time we were there I was using huge nightcrawler worms, the fish hit them hard. Sure you will always get a couple nibblers but man the big worms worked great.
Also T and M had some success with the eggs but id stick with the worms

yellow mickey fins work on that side all those creeks and sloughs best fished on a high tide ther are tons of cohos on the tide
