Has anyone got a local lake that is producing trout right now? I have three kids and over the last couple of weekends we have been to Alice/Stump/Fawn (Squamish) and Lindeman (Chilliwack)lakes and caught nothing. Nada. The kids are getting bored but I want to go again this weekend and maybe even catch a fish. Please, I'm begging. I don't want them to hate fishing. If you have a lake and don't want all to know keljohn@telus.net. Remember I'm begging.

Thanks for your help.

ur from kelowna so try shannon lake in westbank for perch and bass or bear lake for perch.try taking them ice fishing for perch in the winter but make sure u got the right gear and dont push the kids into fishing to much because they will get frustrated and not like it.let them play around if they want or do whatever

Thanks for the tips, but I'm from Vancouver....

You could try rolley lake near mission. It's hard to go wrong there.

A simple little lake that usually produces a couple of trout (8-12") is Mirrin. It is just before Squamish right beside the road. if you have a little boat (no Motor) try rowing around with a #12 red fly, Spratley usually works fairly well.

check the satocking tables on the govt sites and see what lakes were stocked most recently.

This is nice relaxing place, and easy to catch some small rainbow trout, lots of fun for kids:

hey fishhawk, the actuall lake in murrin provincial park is browning(even though i always hear people call it murrin lake). This lake just got stocked and i have got a couple there but nothing real huge, like you said it is a simple lake. i catch my fish from the north side using a worm and bobber or a spratley and a adjusta bubble float. This lake is nice in the early morning when you don't have as much noise from the highway. Also a friend of mine said it is one of his favorite belly boat lakes and he has caught some 2-3 pound bows fishing leeches off the drop off that has weeds.(west end of the lake)

Whats the access like, and how big is it? I wouldn't mind tubing around it with a leech.

Hi louis Vuitton, Murrin/Browning or Petgill lake (depending on who your talking to)is just north of Brittannia Bay on the left hand side of the highway, (2-3 minutes past the mining museum). It is a provincial park so there is a full parking lot, picnic tables and a trail around the outside of the lake. it is fairly small. you can walk around it in about 10 minutes and belly boat around it in about 40 minutes. I have always been able to catch at least one and they average10-12". Good luck

another good place right now especially is buntzen lake, worm and bobbers can catch you your fill off the dock.
but one downside is that you pretty much need waders to get to the dock as the water level has risen about 5 feet at least. but if you do make it to the dock and the weather is half decent, the fish will attack your worms.

it's about the size of lafarge lake if you've ever been there. So basically just big enough to be called a lake
heres the report (if it helps)
