Does anyone know what is happening at Yellow Lake near Keremeos? It was a great lake for Rainbows in previous years, but this year, nothing is happening up there.

Ya, I kicked around for 5 hours about 2 weeks ago and only caught one little guy. Something went wrong with the airorator and some sort of gas got released into the water. There was a HUGE kill off. You could see hundreds of fish bobbing in the water from the highway. However, they did re-stock it. So I would wait until around end of July or into August until you fish it again.

Thankyou very much for the information. So far, the only thing I have caught in Yellow Lake this year are a couple of yellow perch. I understand that fisheries put a mix of rainbow and eastern brook trout in there in May. A total of 30,000 fish, but all little guys. Surely there must be some bigger ones still in there.

depends how bad of a kill it was. I would think that the big ones would die off first if it was a summer kill. They use the most oxygen...
