1+1=2. one day, plus one day equals two coho, both caught within ten feet of the beach. Oh the coho are running and I'm loving it. I got both of them on a pearl and pink striped 3L buzz bomb casting from the beach. I'm not going to name the spot, but in general, any place that is salt and has some sort of fresh water in the vicinity that flows out into the ocean will have staging coho hanging around. Now go have fun.

Nah mate, they were were coho. This spot where I fish for them is too shallow. I wasnt fishing near the Cap at all. I live in Tsawwassen, and theres this beach that juts out, and it shelfs, like, the shelf looks like this:
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" ---------------
The quotes are the water, and the dashed line is the shelf. The thelf is about 8-16 feet deep, and the coho come up onto it from the deep part to feed on the needlefish. You can fly fish for them too as they run some times within wading distance. You'll have one splash or jump like to your right or left and scare you. I have actually never caught a spring. I have no Idea who the Cap is doing, though I have heard good things from other people. I can imagine it is doing good cause I think some of these fish are heading that way.
Thight Lines!

Went out again the other night, got another one. Another guy that was fishing got three all just from the beach. Was out in my kayak the other night too and counted 14 killer whales. J and K pod came by. It was crazy. You could hear them underwater making their whale noises and they were breaching all around. I also went out to the dolphin area and had about five dolphins around me. It was sorta scary cause I didnt know how they would act to me, and you could see them "sharking" and what not as their dark shadows passed by you. It was sorta scary, haha. Anyways, got to go. Later tigers

Can't be Springs as Cap River is still too low for them to swim up as far as Cable Pool, besides it is too early for Springs in the Cap. Could be some nice size Cohos. Go up to Hachery and see it for yourself that there are some nice size Cohos too.

At my coho spot, the cutties were nucking futs! If any of you guys have never been after sea-runs, you have to try. Though they are mysterious, they are beautiful.

so i was out again today. I found a school of small coho jacks, about 1-3 pounds. They were boiling the surface about fifteen feet infront of me. Lets say the flyfishing was easy. Then, as the school moved farther away, I switched to a small buzzbomb on the casting rod and hooked a six pounder, one that fits my bbq grill just right, lol. Get out there and after them if you haven't already.
