Author Topic: Weaver lake

Hi everybody!
I was gonna go to Weaver lake on long weekend May 20th 2006 so I was wondering how accessible it is, cause I read on this forum about some kind of gate, which you need to get a key for, but the most recent message I read said that the access is clear, so if anybody has been there recently would you please tell how was it?
If you could also say how bad (or not bad) the access road is, is it only trucks and 4x4s or is it just gravel road and is not so bad?
And one more thing. What's the road's or street's name , which if going from Vancouver you gotta turn left off Hwy 7 when going to the lake?
Thanks a lot guys!
After my trip gonna post a detailed report.

The name of the road that you turn north on from hwy 7 is morris valley road. The final access road to Weaver is not 4X4 access but is steep with some pot holes and ruts. If you are looking for better fishing but not as user friendly camping drive the extra 45 mins north on harrison west fsr and try Loookout lake. The lake has bows, cutts and cuttbows with FAST fishing for pan frys and 50/50 chance at 14" to 16" fatties (for coastal fish). The road into lookout has one washout but my stock TJ had no problem at all. Cheers. PS my info is about 2 years old so if things have changed I am sure somone will correct the errors.

Find that older report on weaver lake again. there should be a contact number for the parks guys, he will tell you if you need a key for the gate or if the gate is open for the season. Good luck on your trip, weaver lake is a favorite of mine.

watch out with boat was stolen right off the beach by some gas chuggers

Define, GAS CHUGGERS? Please!

ya... kind of an odd comment... what exactly are you referring to?
