Author Topic: Sturgeon in Sumas river?

I was fishing around the pump station on the last Saturday and saw huge white color fish were jumping a lot.

It seemed to be much more than a meter, so I assumed that they were sturgeon. However, it could be huge carp.

Any idea about this guy??

sounds like that's a stugeon but there may also be some big springs starting to come in. It's possible they are lost (this does happen) as the early run that comes around now is for the Harrison I believe.

Definite sturgeon, most likely not a Harisson spring. Lots of Upper fraser stock in the river now!
