Author Topic: New float, that includes fish finder and more

I saw a shared post on Facebook about MagicCatch. Apparently it is a new float and a fish finder in one, besides that they have a new technology whereby you can tell an app on your smartphone to lower your hook to the same depth as your target fish is swimming. The float works with a wifi antenna that sends information to the app. With the app you can see how many fish there are swimming, how big they are, at what depth they are swimming and which kind of fish it is. They just started a Indiegogo (some kind of Kickstarter) champagne. My question is what do you think about this float?

the web page you linked to appear to have gone.

there have been similar fish finders, but I have not seen one combined with a float.

It sounds heavy and expensive, but I could be wrong. I could see it being helpful on a large lake where you have no idea where the structure is, what the depth is and where the fish are. However, I cannot see a big advantage on our rivers, unless you happen to be fishing a very big river.

They own shares in smart phones and count on a large number being dropped overboard when a fish is about to bite. They will make a fortune...
