who all fished in the Chilliwack Fish and Game club derby yesterday and how'd you do? Me and my buddy got skunked after both hitting fish Friday.

I didn't hook into any fish but did see 3 landed as well as hearing of one other. All were wild though.

where were they landed? the last time i was up there the water was way to high and fast. but im thinking of going this weekend. i have only been out there the one time so i would really like any help as far as where the fish are.

just got home the water is up but good visibility.no fish for me, lots of guys.as far as the derby i heard 13 fish for 400 anglers.the ranger run was good or so i heard

Ranger's wasn't bad that day, but all the fish I saw were much lower than Rangers, around I'd say mid river.

my friend was there on the vedder for the derby. saw his favourite hole being bottom bounced!!!!!so he went farther upriver and caught a wild one in the 10lb range. float fished with wool yarn egg. and guys were bottom bouncing for steelhead. does that even work for steelhead or are we getting desperate for fish.

I don't think BB with a short leader and bait is much of a problem. Some holes are real deep and you gotta get down to the fish, but trying to intentionally floss or snag one isn't right. I believe Bottom Bouncing for Steel is big down in the US? Not sure about that though.

i have heard bb is big in the states also.down south alot of the rivers are quite dirty year round so this is one of the better methods to catch fish on a regular basis.
