Alex

Did you try a jig under a float or your were casting jig with a curly tail? Pink color, I guess?
Club Info

DFO estimates 25 million Fraser pink salmon return this year (compare to 3 million sockeye).

When do the Pinks close on the Non-Tidal portion of the Fraser????????
Alex

Fraser will be closed to salmon fishing Sep 22 - Oct 10.

i used white plastic wormy tail with lead jig. a couple of bead weights. A single small hook is important about the size of a thumb. keep sharp always. use light jigging retrieve. No snagging and usually all the fish are male caught in the mouth.
Joefisherman

wrong ,they close on the 16th.
Alex

Seen a lot of fishermen today in Richmond casting from shore between 2nd and 3rd roads. Most of them were using spoons (red/white, pink, brass crocs). Water there is quite fast right by the shore. Some were bar fishing.

Seems like a good sign. And yes, tidal section of Fraser will be closed to fishing after this weekend.
Fraser King

Joefisherman: yes the tidal waters close at that time, he is talking about the non-tidal waters upstream from the mission cpr bridge.

Finally managed to catch some pinks in Richmond (2/3 rds). Very slow retrieve of Gibbs Ultra (silver/pink color) produced two fish for me late in the everning.

Generally - a very slow day, fishermen who spent there all day said only 7-8 fish were caught. So, I should feel lucky, I guess

Alex Fraser Bridge was quite productive today for pinks.
