Rather than reporting on a thread about closures I started a new one. I could have titled it "a beautiful morning looking at the river" as I never had a bite or saw a splash. Not even many pesky whitefish or whatever !
Hopefully it picks up earlier than last year .

dead again this morning except lots of pesky whitefish or whatever. Also there are new "no parking" signs from one end of Banana Island to the other. You pretty well need a boat to fish the T. now with all the construction going on.

The fishing is dead to slow. I had a bite today at least that I think was a salmon.
Despite the lack of fish I have spent three great mornings so far on the river and will be there again tomorrow. The entertainment is great. A beaver pays me a visit every day. Monday he was within 5 feet of me oblivious to my presence. Today I had to lift my line so he could swim under it about 3 feet from my float. I thought he was going after my float for a few seconds. Instead he was going over to check out a small dead fish 3 mink had left behind. They had entertained me for about 10 minutes as they scampered around on the far bank .The beaver did not want the fish either leaving it for a crow. Great entertainment !

Should be some fish around as i watched a LARGE school of springs swim up around the canyon area in a small pocket.

There are lots of fish in the river but they seem to be moving right through where I am fishing. Got one on Monday, a nice 15 pound doe.

finally they are biting my hook. I landed 2 does, 12 and 15 pounds and was on my way home before 7:30 am. yesterday I had to watch 3 friends limit out while I got nothing. Today I got to show them how. Lots of fish in the river for sure.

while the fishing has ben pretty good the construction at Hoffman's Bluff has shut down access to the river due to blasting. They will tow any vehicles parked any where near the construction site and they will not even allow you to be on the river in the area of Banana Island...this season is over unless you fish well down or up river or in the lake. Was lots of fun for a few days.
