Author Topic: Ice off

I am still dreaming although there is a lot of water showing around the edges of the lake down the road. It will not be long now. It usually comes off during the first week of April. It supect my fly rod will be in use in 2 weeks. With 10 pound trout waiting will be a dream for a bit yet !

Can't wait for ice off in the alpine lakes. Ive been fishing cutties on a few rivers and back eddies to get the fly rod warmed up.

With the continued warm weather the ice is starting to come off the lake down the road. There is a big patch of open water. I hope to try this week but today I took my dogs for their first swim of 2015. 3 fellows were fishing from shore. One of them caught a nice 2 pound bow while I was there.
Last year it was still completely frozen until early April . I think it is safe to say fishing season will start early this yeart all over the Thompson/Okanagan.
