you can pretty much go anywhere between oliver and osoyoos and find oxbows filled with carp. Use dew worms or home made chum with just a hook and split-shots. I'm not sure if right now is the best time, but in the summer heat, it's awsome.

check the regs regarding fishablity,Burnaby lake & Deer lake both have large carp in them. I wouldn't eat them tho'. Way too much goose poop in the water.

nice catch Rosin..big fish. do you eat the carp or just C&R. Carp Don't exactly live in the most cleanest areas of the river but are excellent fighters on light action setups.

Well done catching that small whale. To do so on a fly rod is double tough. Again, well done.

You won't believe it but I catch carp with salmon egg imitations. They take those flies out of a kind of curiosity. But I catch those carps also on nimfs. But use o strong hook. Flyfishing for carp is sightfishing thus in the summertime the fish are swimming on the surface and then you can present them your fly. The most important thing is not to disturbe or frightening the fish. It is very exciting kind of flyfishing.

I read an article in a fly magazine that said they fight like Coho. I'll have to dig it up as I can exactly remember how it was worded

rosin...where did you catch the carp?

I caught these fishes in canals in my homeland The Netherlands, just about more then 5000 miles from Vancouver. And here it is C& R, for most of the fish species. Just to keep fishing for the future. It takes many years for a fish to grow big. And we want to catch big fish isn't it?

I've caught lots of carp in Osoyoos and Penticton. Most of the carp i caught were in the 3-6 pound range, I caught them all on corn.

Hi Wizzman, you've caught a lot of carp in Osoyoos and Penticton. Can you write me please where you caught them exactly?( i mean name of lakes ). Thanks.

Miky, i have caught carp in the canal that joins Lake Okanagan and Lake penticton, and in Lake Osoyoos i have caught carp just off docks near beaches using corn from a can, i usually put on enough pieces to cover the hook altought sometimes it doesn't work or you can just stick a worm on liek i did last year in Lake Osoyoos and i caught a 3.5 pound kokanee trout and a 4 pound carp.
