Can anyone tell me where to find an updated version of the
195 Lakes of the Frazer Valley Volume 1 or other? These books are a great guide to finding secluded hike in Lakes.
Also I would love to know if anyone has ever been up to Widgeon Lake and how hard is it to follow the trail? This
place sounds like a rare camping/fishing paradise!!Please
some tell me something.

Hey, Goose! Check Club's Special Offers section - you have a chance to get $40.00 for photos of Widgeon lake!

As for "getting there", actually our instructions are not correct. Quarry Rd is blocked and you will not be able to drive or even hike there. In order to get to the lake you should use a boat (there are canoe rentals on the East side of Pitt river, near golf course). After you've made it to the other side you will have to hike all the way.

I am not sure about the "last mile" of the hike, but I heard comments that it is well maintained by a local hiking club.

Hi Alex..I have a detailed map of the Widgeon slough and
all the info you gave me plus more. When you reach the trail head After making your way up the Slough 4.5kms!!
You then find yourself at the BCFS Campsite. From there it
is about an 8km hike to 770 meters evevation. You can only go up by canoe because Quarry road is private. When I get
a chance I am going to do weekend hike up and bring my infatable boat. This Lake has steelhead, rainbows and lots
more to be had, i will surely take my Didgital camer.

I would be glad to provide more info about Widgeon Lake.
The info I have includes navigation through the Widgeon
Slough, time and distance,BCSF Campsite (free) B.C forest
service. Distance ,time and elevation for the 8km hike up
to the lake on the Widgeon lake trail. I also have info
about the falls which forms a pond right before the lake
and also I have some info about where to camp. This Lake is
amazing and offers everything a naturalist and angler could
ever dream of. This info can found in a book I found,195
Lakes of the Frazer valley volume 1, Author ..Ed Rychkun.
