how does differnt gear ratio feel? like 4.9:1 to around 6? and how will it affect it?

I don't really get what you're saying: You want to buy a new gear?

If your talking about the ratios on reels, the higher the number:1, the better. Like, if you get a reel thats 4:1 ratio, it means the spool will make four complete revolutions to one turn of the handle. Its to make it easier on your hands, and quicker for picking up line when retrieving slack, such as if a fish was to come straight at the boat or something, or if you want to reel up and change locations on the lake.

Your best bet is to talk to your local guys at a tackle shop near you. They are there to help out.

Then they can guide you to the type of gear you are going to need to do the type of fishing you want to do.
