Does anyone know anything about Cypress Lake?,..the small one 3.7 kms east of Buntzen Lake. All I know is that it is 4 hecters in size and was stocked with trout in the 80s.

This is a very interesting place. There is a rough 4x4 road which is now gated at the entrance, so you have to hike to the lake.
Water in Cypress lake is dark brown. It is so dark that you can hardly see any bottom within 10 cm! Fishing is still good. It is a long hike for carrying a float tube, but it is a great advantage as shore access is limited.
I doubt you can visit this lake right now due to the back country travel ban.

Thanks for the reply Alex. I am a little confused though. I couldnt find a topilogical map anywhere , not even from B.C Hydro or other related links , maybey because the Lake is too small. I can only tell where this lake is from an explode view of the Buntzen lake map by following the Eagle Ridge trail from the SouthEast corner of the parking lot at Buntzen Lake . Are you sure you are talking about the same lake? Judging from the map you sent ,the lake doesnt sit right by comparing the angle of the lake on the North setting and the map I have makes no mention of Johnson road.

Here is the detailed topo map of the area. I believe we are talking about the same lake. Map at SharpHooks.com does not show all the roads, but "getting there" instructions should be accurate.
Does this lake look right on the topo map?
