Author Topic: Bass in the Vedder

On Sunday Oct 5 was fishing the lower Vedder below the Sumas with lures and the guy besides me caught, landed and killed a 13"-14" largemouth bass. He said he would report it to fisheries. The bass seemed very healthy, has anyone else seen bass on the Vedder? This worries me.

probably came over from the sumas ditch. good on the fellow for killing it.

I saw 2 caught a few weeks back in the bay behind the launch, both about 1.5 lbs.Was shocked to see them there.

Sumas has tons of them.

Thanks for the input I did not think they would survive so well in cold flowing water.Going back at dawn hopefully I find some hatchery silver.

"Sumas has tons of them".
As a angler from the east I love my bass fishing could you please advise what area of the Sumas is fishable from shore for bass?

Go to the barrow town pumping station and below, there bass in there it's all fishable from shore

Was @ Sumas on the weekend and snagged a 4" tadpole with my lure another obvious invasive species caught in the vedder system.see at
