i have a 12 foot lund with a 9.9. now i take it in the tidal fraser area but i have herd from a few diffrent ppl that a 9.9 is too small for the fraser i have not had any issues my self so far. i was planning on taking it further up like out of the harrison into the fraser when it opens now that the water has gone down a bit. just want to know a few thought on this. thanx

I'm using a 12 aluminum with a 9.9 on the Fraser, I found it performed better on the river with the standard prop pitch changed slightly to give it more power and less speed.
Also, as a spare I carry the standard pitch prop that I normally use on large lakes.

You would be crazy to try and go from the Harrison into the Fraser with a 12' and a 9.9. The confluence of the Harrison and Fraser is one of the most dangerous spots on the Fraser, even ripping through that spot in a 20' thunder jet with a 454 in it you're getting tossed around a fair bit. You would be better off staying in the Harrison above the train bridge and there's lots of fish in the Harrison between the train bridge and the confluence of the chahalis. A couple other spots you could take that boat are, the vender canal, launch at barrow town pump station for free or you could bar fish the Fraser between mission and Chilliwack, launch from the end of old orchard road in west Chilliwack for free. Good luck and please don't try going from the Harrison to the Fraser with that boat, you will capsize and most likely downed to death if you attempt it. Just stay safe, let people know where you're going and what time you plan on being back. No fish is worth dying over and trust me, I've been there before the whole swimming for you're life and getting hypothermia is not a fun place to be.

thanks abe for your detailed responce. thats pretty well what i herd about that spot on the river. also thanks for the alternate launch locations that sounds a little safer for my boat. i was out at peg leg shore fishing this week and only seen the infamous jet boats (So jelous as they were slaying them) i will try my luck from these places and post some resaults thanks again tight lines!!!
