does anyone know if the roads are open to get to these lakes yet, or are they still frozen

I highly doubt that one can get far up bear creek road yet. but who knows, there's always logging going on up there. best way is to go for a drive and see. jackpine is a lot lower, so your chances of there are better.

but the melt has really increased this past week. the creeks, streams, and rivers have really started to flow. plus, even when those roads are first driveable, the ice won't be off the lakes yet. many, many times I've driven up to those higher lakes, eager at some early spring fishing now that the road is open, only to reach the lake and find it still icy. a good indicator is to just watch more visible lakes. ask if people going over the connector have noticed if walker is thawed. once it is, those others will definitely be.
