Author Topic: Mac's Squid plugs

A found time capsule of fishing items from yesteryear, 28 Mac's mint and in the box. Our household mainly uses other gear but understands how treasured these are. Looking for suggestions on how best to get them out where they can be used. I can post or send pics. 10 point special, 14 pink pearl, 3 silver Mac, 1 blue back. Each has box and each are new and never been used.

I think you have found the right place. I had a bunch of used ones that I never used any more. I had a lot of interest so hopefully you will too. how much do you want for them ? the mac squids were second to none. I caught a lot of fish on them !

ps welcome to sharphooks. I notice you are a brand new member !

Hi Cagey, not looking for highest markup price. Mostly interested in respectable amount to get the lot of them in a place where they would be used and appreciated. Time for them to entrance fish and dance in the water. Pics to be posted this weekend. :-)

that is why/how I got rid of mine ! it might help to put a $ figure on them.

I really don't get the fascination with these plugs. they don't look special, I don't find they look anything special in the water, and their build quality doesn't even compare to a tomic or lyman. I have four or so and they don't even make it into my tacklebox.
I bought them when I found them because I knew they were sought after, but I still don't get it.

Probably because they aren't even in your tackle box. They work great if you give them a shot.

I caught a lot of fish in Okanagan lk in the early 80's using them. they were my # 1 lure. I used 5 different colours : pink, blue, green, black and white depending on the conditions and time of year. you should try them gearbox!

I took several pics, not sure what is best to post.

Lot of Mac's

I've ran them, and it was in Okanagan. I just wasn't that impressed. lyman is my go-to plug, hands down. I'm really not impressed with the build of the mac squid, screws into cheap plastic ain't very high-quality. Run a mac squid beside a lyman, there's no comparison, and i'd put my $$ on the lyman to catch more.
There's a reason they aren't made any more.
