Can anyone tell me when the ice is off norton lake. And can someone tell me how bad the road really is .

I should think the ice is well off it now. I haven't been there for a couple of years but as I recall the worst part is the climb at the begining (just out of Squamish). If you can do that you should be fine. I did it in a Pathfinder 4x4 a number of times.

Actually I tried to get in that lake last year, but the bloody gate was locked on the stawmous logging road. I've been wanting to try that lake for a long time now. I have heard 4 pounders are not a rare thing. If anyone can update the gate status that would be great

stawamus,, hmm sounds familiar. Is that the one right by the chief?? the one that goes up by Indian River???.. I should think the ice off. Its been really hot up high lately.

Well i went for a drive up there and only went as far as 15 km board sign but there was on sign of snow besides the peeks of the mountains road was just graded to the 15 km sign but i forgot my map to get there and gave up . wasnt sure if i was on the right road but i was just dont think i went far enuff. try again soon

Well i went to go i was on the wrong road . but i found it today but went could only make it 5 or 6 km and the road is washed out and unpassable so unless ur into a long hike or a 4 wheeler if you can make with that is it for fishing norton lake till the fix the road . what a waste
