i'm headed back to the island for a week or so.
going to be spending 2-3 days in Campbell river, then up to pt. mcneil again.

are there any puddles around Campbell river that have any bass?
I know there's some down by Nanaimo, any further north?
thanks.

looks to me that spider lake gets stocked with bass..I have never been there or fished bass..google says its stocked..on another forum they said its a spring/fall lake....thats all I could find...goodluck

If I were to be in campbell river Id target the pinks/coho off the beach.. or even off the gov wharf.the schools of salmon circle the dock and are easily caught..myself.i would be at the beaches with my flyrod !!
tightlines.

thanks.
yeah, I was thinking the same about the beaches.
it's just that I love and miss my bass fishing, and I knew the island had some good spots, but more around Nanaimo.

i've changed my trip a bit.
going to only spend 2 days in Campbell then head north again.
my brother is in mcneil with his boat, but he's gone most that time that i'll be there.
i'm going to spend a few days up there, telegraph cove, holberg, winter harbour, coal harbour, sointula, going and seeing the sights that are there.
he'll be back that Friday I think and then i'll probably get out on the big water for a day maybe.

I've never fished salmon from the shores, except from the riverbanks in Alaska.
what's the main method I should try?

when will you be on the north end? if ya wanna get into some pinks and coho ..just let me know and we can meet up and slay !! I usually get mon/tues off and dont start work till noon on my days on.. thats a good 4-5 hrs in the mornings..

what kinda gear you bringing? I pretty much just use a buzzbomb rod for tbe dock and flyrods for the beach's ..havnt tried tossing lures from shore yet.
gearbox

not sure.
might be up there Tuesday or Wednesday. kinda flying by the seat of my pants.
I hate schedules.
send me your # and i'll text you when I have a better idea.
would love to learn something new.
gearbox

thanks.
schedule has already changed.
will maybe be up there Monday and Tuesday.
Wednesday down to sayward, and back up to mcneil for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

i'll contact you if everything works out.
gearbox

haha.
I never wrote your # down when it was on here. when I checked for it, it was gone.
no biggie, I didn't even get around to any fishing anyway.
which was very painful, being in some of the best areas at the best times and doing nothing but sight-seeing.
they were absolutely slaying the fish out at winter harbour.

sorry gearbox but after you responded to mike's post I thought you would note his number so I deleted it. I did not think mike wanted his number left longer than necessary.
