Author Topic: Kawkawa Lake Fishing Help.

Hi, I am planning on going to Kawkawa lake for some camping/fishing next week. I know that the lake is know for its kokanee. I am new to lake fishing and I have no idea how to do it. I have a 12 ft. boat with a trolling motor that I can use, or I would have to fish from shore? Which is my better option. How do I target the fish? I have a small 5-6 ft. Daiwa rod and reel and a couple of other small rods and reels. What do I use and how do I fish? Float or bottom? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your help, would my small rod work? I don't know how to bottom fish with krill yet, but I will try and find out, so my boat would be the better option.

Ok thanks, what is a baitholder hook? And what is the best knot to use when fishing krill?

Fish 36 feet down about 75 feet offshore, far end of lake boat launch
Krill is the only way to go.
16" leader, drop to bottom, retract about 2 - 6'
Good luck
