Greetings everyone,
Does anyone got any carp at Burnaby lake? If so, can you please send a few details (e.g. size, bait, location, time of the day). Thanks a lot!

Look under the lilly pads, use dough. Instead of eating the carp, you may want to just suck the mercury out of a thermometer instead.
You know where there are some MONSTER carp? Drive out to the trout farm on Colebrook road in Newton. They have a big long driveway, look in the ditch that runs alongside - it's about 8 feet wide, I donno know how deep. There are even a few trout in there that escape the pens. These ditches are FULL of carp, finnickey hell - only caught 'em on the bow & arrow or seal bombs (horay for private property!).
The farm is owned by the Reuter family; just roll up & ask if you can fish the ditch - offer 'em a $20 or something. You will also see pens in the lower end of the property which are all overgrown & covered in slime; I have pulled MONSTER trout out of there, all gone wild. Old man Reuter also had wild boars roaming the property, which made for an interesting hike down the hill...
Of course this was all years ago, you can check it out for yourselves. But it just goes to show that you never know where you'll find another fishing hole...

Thanks, Kai. Can you please tell me more about where's Newton/Colebrook Road located? Couldn't find Newton on the map and there's only one a Colebrook Road in Surrey. Thanks again,

There's only one Colebrook Rd., the fish farm is located where the train tracks cross Colebrook, below Panorama Ridge in Surrey. Go for drive, you'll find it!!

if you want to fish for carp try Ladner, there are many sloughs with carp upto 8lbs or so. The two main sloughs are green slough and Chilukten Slough (sp?) use worms/dough/corn the regular baits. good luck

Ladner for carp? Like where, I live in Tsawwassen, and the only sloughs i can think of is the main one everybody drives by. Its influenced by the tied (so its partially Saltwater). Meh, what ever. If you can pull carp out of there, good luck

I know there is a pretty big, busy lake ( I can't think of the name right now ) in the Lower Mainland... it's a popular recreation spot; swimming, volleyball, a lot of picnics/ people firing up the hibachies (no it's not Buntzen)... anyways we used to go down there when I was a kid. Me and a fishing buddy once took a walk down one of the trails to do some fishing away from the crowds. We ran into some Europeans baiting their hooks with huge pieces of corn on the cob covered in bread crumbs. They would cast it way out there and hook some huge carp every 5-10 minutes. Sorry I can't be anymore help with the name. I'll ask around and maybe it'll come back to me.
